The adherence of the Organizations to the Environmental Management System is a transition from verifying the respect to the national and regional laws to a complete management of its activities towards the prevention and the improvement of what concerns the environmental impact.
The norms and law’s dispositions are respected, it is established an environmental policy that is equipped with specific programmes of prevention and improvement for all the environmental aspects involved in the organization’s activity. This policy is a public communication.
These standards are helped by an efficient control instrument that is AUDIT. These audits must be punctual, and exhaustive and they are performed by auditors, chosen for their experience and competence.
EMAS ECO- Management and Audit Scheme
It is a voluntary standard applicable to any type of industrial organizations of the European Union. It must contain a public environmental declaration.
Scopes:
- promotion of a continuous improvement of the environmental services of the industrial activities through the introduction of the environmental policies, programmes and specific management systems for the industrial site
- periodical evaluation of the services
- production of a public environmental declaration
